Why Does a Doctor Need a Professional Website?

Professional Website

So, what makes a well-designed professional website for medicine? The simplest response is that a good website offers a consistent message and the value proposition of the practice is conveyed. For those that do not talk about marketing, the thing that makes you appealing to consumers is your “value proposition”. It may be the schools attended by your doctors, their backgrounds, their ability to make house calls, or even the insurance you take and their hospital affiliations. Whatever it is that will attract people to your practise, must be communicated on your platform.

Imagine a doctor’s office that doesn’t have a phone. Unless they came into the office, there would be no way for patients to reach the doctor, prospective patients, outside organisations, or any other significant parties to ask questions, inquire about programmes, or set up an appointment. No means of communication will exist. We say to our customers that a website is also a medium for communication. So, why don’t so many physicians’ offices have one? That is the equivalent to not getting a phone in your office in this day and age.

Unfortunately, the importance of traditional marketing practises like blogs is not seen by too many doctors and medical practitioners. Some doctors can also see the website as mere advertisement and fall victim to the old-fashioned belief that advertisement makes a desperate appearance for a medical professional. But today, the lack of a website can threaten both your credibility and your business.

Many doctors believe that if they choose to use it for marketing to prospective customers, they only need a website. But 80 percent of Internet users check for medical information online, according to a recent survey. This means your current (and future) patients are already searching for medical information online, and they’re most likely looking for you.

Do you want the first impression of your patient to be something produced by Yelp or another online review source or do you want the first impression of your patient to be controlled? A well-designed website for medical practise will provide patients with both medical information and practical information, including office hours. Also, a well-designed site will provide potential partners and patients with reputation and marketing support. A well-designed website for professionals makes it easier for colleagues to link to your clinic.

Protect your professional integrity and broaden it

It may be a negative indication to others to have no online presence available. Your storey is highly informed by what you show online, how your healthcare colleagues and the public know about you.

For more suitable patients and situations, change the patient mix.

No guarantee of attracting an optimum mix of cases and patients is simply being busy. This combination may be influenced by Internet marketing.

Protect, sustain and increase market share

In healthcare marketing, the Internet is a key concern. This is where prospective patients survey their choices with clients.

Standing out in the race

Being invisible online is literally your gift to another practise of a new business.

The Internet is also used for due diligence by reference physicians

No doubt your CV is very impressive and speaks high volumes, but your online presence is immediately accessible, and it speaks volumes about you and your work to professional colleagues.

The Internet is used by patients for due diligence

Referred or self-referred, many patients will go online to familiarise themselves with the practise before scheduling an appointment. The parent takes the patient elsewhere with little to – no Internet presence medical facility perhaps to a competitive provider they have found online.

In Healthcare, things shift easily

To rely on a single channel for new patients, or even from multiple referral sources, is a risk given the certainty of change in healthcare. An online professional website for doctors helps in maintaining your referral stream and boost your career growth.

What are all the Best Website Builders?

Website Builders

The best website builders will allow you to create your own websites without the need of any web design skills. Coding doesn’t need to be understood instead, you can just drag and drop content where you like, and the web builder does the rest. And if you’re in a hurry, or don’t have a vision for the design of how your website will look like, then you can just choose a template (also known as a theme), add your images and text to the layout, and you’re done.

But with so many website builders on the market, how do you choose the right one? In this post, we selected our eight favorite website building platforms and explain what each of them offers, outline how much the service costs are, and highlight any unique features.

Some of the best web site builders are listed as follow-ups.

Wix

Free trial: 14 days | Free version: Yes | Pricing: £3-£18/month

Wix is the best website builder on the market, mainly because it is so easy to use its drag-and-drop editor, even if you haven’t built a website previously. But that doesn’t mean every Wix site looks the same: in reality, the platform offers a lot of flexibility about how you want to look at your design. However, if you want to make things easier to set up, then there are more than 500 templates to select from. In fact, you will be able to add as many images and videos to your site as you like with unmetered storage, even on the starter plan ($2.75).

How much you’re paying depends on what you want. You could just take the free option that offers everything you need to create a website and get it live forever. Of course, there are limitations to this plan: you will get limited bandwidth and storage space (500 MB), a Wix-branded domain name, and Wix ads on your site. But since you pay zero for this service, you can’t really complain about any of that.

The paid plans, meanwhile, are pretty cheap at between £ 3 and £18 per month and offer a great deal of value. Upgrade to one of them, and you’ll be able to give your site a custom domain, remove ads, increase bandwidth and storage, and add an online store if you want. In short, whether you just want to play around and build a fun website, create a full-time online business, or anything in between, Wix provides an easy-to-use system to do so at an excellent price.

 Pros and Cons:

+ Easy to use

+ Yet still highly user-friendly

Poor support

HostGator

Free trial: 14 days | Free version: No | Pricing: $2.75-$5.95/month

HostGator is best known as the hosting provider, as the name suggests. But it also has a very good web builder service, which is called Gator. This includes a drag-and-drop editor, much like Wix’s, and a choice of 150 templates to get you started.

Although the features are a bit more limited than some of the other web builders on our list, the scheme is very easy to use. For example, if you are building a blog, then you won’t be able to schedule posts or allow visitors to add comments (other than via Facebook comments).

However, if you run a small business and just want a basic site to be up and running quickly, this is a very good option. In fact, you will be able to add as many images and videos to your site as you like with unmetered storage, even on the starter plan ($2.75). And if you get stuck, then through live chat, email, or even via phone, there is 24/7/365 support.

Pros and Cons:

+ Get sites live quickly

+ Good customer support

Limited blog features

Squarespace

Free trial: 14 days | Free version: No | Pricing: £10-£30/month

Squarespace is a web builder that is popular with creative professionals, such as designers, artists and photographers. This is largely due to its beautifully designed templates. Designed by creative people, they feature a lot of white space to show your portfolio work in the most elegant light. Squarespace is also a good way to set up an online store, write a blog or promote your podcast.

That said, it’s not just creative people who are attracted to the platform, and you’ll also find special templates here for a wide range of other types of business, from restaurants to musicians, weddings to real estate. All of these are brilliantly designed, but they are also very customizable.

The drag-and-drop web building interface is easy to use, with useful prompts every time you hover your mouse over any part of the page, although it’s not as intuitive as Wix’s. What we do really like, though, is the ability to switch templates; at which point all the text and images you uploaded will automatically move to the new design.

The main downside to Squarespace is the price, which is a bit more expensive than most web builders. Squarespace doesn’t offer a free plan, but there’s a 14-day free trial, which should be more than enough time to see if you like it before you commit. In fact, 10 minutes of thumbing through the templates on your own will probably be all you need to decide if Squarespace is for you.

Pros and Cons:

+ Amazing templates

+ Loads of features

Editor interface is a bit unusual

WordPress

Free version: Yes

WordPress.org has been around for decades as an open-source project, allowing generations of people to build websites free of charge, even though you need to organize your domain name and web hosting separately. This is a long way from the easy drag-and-drop interfaces offered by paid-for website builders on our list in terms of simplicity. So, if you’re new to WordPress, then it’s going to take some time to master.

On the plus side, though, you’re going to have extensive control over how your website looks and feels. And to get you up to speed, there’s a lot of good documentation, a thriving global community, and a lot of other help around the web (see our guide to the best WordPress tutorials for more on that).

Pros and Cons:

+ Good documentation

+ Fine control over your site

Hosting isn’t free.
